I met Doreen about a year ago when I took her corporate headshot. At the time, her daughter, Crystal, was pregnant with her first child so we got on the subject of maternity portraits and family portraits. Doreen was sure excited at her soon-to-be grandma status! While the family was together for Thanksgiving, we planned a photo session at the Fun Zone on the Balboa Peninsula. This spot is great for childrens’ portraits and family portraits because of the vibrant, fun backgrounds. The beach and Balboa Pier are right across the street from the Fun Zone, so there’s the opportunity for beach portraits as well. If you’re looking for a unique location to have your family or child photographed, call me up and we’ll meet at the Fun Zone!

I don’t like to play favorites, but I must admit that baby D is my favorite little person to photograph. Her parents hired me to do her newborn photo session, and I have photographed her at least 5 more times since then. Just a couple weeks ago I met baby D’s new baby brother at his first photo session! The Macey Special package I offer includes 4 photo sessions and a free album. Most of my clients use the first session on maternity portraits or newborn portraits, then decide to purchase the Macey Special so their baby’s first year of life can be professionally documented through my lens
A very heartfelt thank you to baby D’s parents for being such loyal clients and friends, and allowing me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful children.

Baby D’s daddy surprised his wife with a canvas gallery wrap and album with images from our most recent photo session. He kidnapped baby D from daycare for the secret photo session at the Fun Zone on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach.

From the surprise Mother’s Day photo session at the Fun Zone. I spoiled baby D with her first taste of candy.

Baby D’s daddy also called upon me for a surprise Mother’s Day photo session in 2008. The image above is from that session, taken at the Montage in Laguna Beach.

This summer, my cutie pie niece, Mirabella, visited California. Of course I made sure she got plenty of time in front of my camera. I love using the white backdrop for children’s portraits and baby portraits. It’s simple, will never go out of style, and lets the viewer focus on the subject, instead of being distracted by a cheesy backdrop. Please excuse the massive amount of pics in this post. I couldn’t narrow down my choices any more! PS- the orange pettiskirt is by Kaiya Eve. I suggest shelling out the extra few bucks for one of these. The fabric on the imitation pettiskirts I’ve seen is not even close to the quality of a Kaiya Eve. After the flower girl in my wedding wore one of these, I HAD to buy one for myself (well not exactly for myself, for little ones portrait sessions). I snagged mine on SandboxCouture.com.

Brianna and Teren were both majoring in music at Chapman University in Orange when they met and fell in love. I also graduated from Chapman University, though I never crossed paths with either of them. It would only be fitting that we do their engagement photos in the very place their romance began: on the Chapman University campus. We also stopped at several spots in Old Towne Orange (aka “The Circle”). Honestly, this couple is so ridiculously in love, and what’s better is their high level of respect for one another. Oh, and did I mention that they were such a blast to photograph?! Anyone who will mount the Chapman University panther statue for a “fun pic” is a winner in my book (I won’t mention any names…)
Cool Zen garden behind the Fish Interfaith Center at Chapman University.
We had fun playing around with different styles of posing.
Where it all began…the school of music at Chapman University.

The old stomping grounds!! Oh, memories!
The Business School doors were unlocked, so we took advantage of shooting by this cool artwork.

And one fun/cheesy pic to end our session!
